FILM AND MUSIC: DOCUMENTARY IN FILM CLUB "EYES OPEN" UTP

The film club "Open Eyes" of UTP, with the support of B SIDE PROJECT , have cycle FILM AND MUSIC: DOCUMENTARY , presenting documentaries on movements generated musical counterculture turn social impacts still present. The screenings will be every Thursday from September to 7:30 pm at the Technological University of Peru, in the auditorium "Elisa Toullier Valcárcel (Block" F "3rd floor). Admission is free.

Punk attitude
Country and year: USA. 2007 / Director: Don Letts
the mid-70's, a revolution lit the streets of London and New York, affecting the youth of the moment and all future generations. Punk redefined pop, threatening to break all established and legitimizing the independent attitude. Inspiration for a whole generation of musicians and filmmakers, poets, photographers, designers and graphic artists. The film traces the history of this movement, combining interviews with key figures of the movement with an important archive material. A a chronological narrative that allows the facts speak for themselves.

American hardcore and year
Country: USA. 2006 / Director: Paul Rachman

documentary that delves into suburban trends from the 80 drew up what is known as Punk Movement. With bands such as file Circle Jerks, The Misfits and Suicidal Tendencies, among many others, the film runs 98 minutes with a different view of the phenomenon, visual effects designer John Vondráček, respectful of the '80s aesthetic.

Metal: A Headbanger's Journey

In 1986, something strange happened: the Heavy Metal music became more popular in the world, and everywhere were seen guys with long hair making the sign of the horns and playing air guitars. But not everyone liked: critics rated unsophisticated music for unsophisticated people. An article came to be called sick, disgusting, horrible and dangerous Dumn Sam ...". So begins the narration of the film, possibly the best audiovisual work on the Metal Research done to date, and certainly one of the most entertaining , and gives the goal of knowing what, where and how this musical style originated, and what is it that has always generated reactions as found in the audience.

is a documentary that shows the origins, growth and overexposure of the Seattle-Grunge. Footage and interviews with groups, producers, fans that show us that not only grunge Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, but much more. You can view and record live recordings of bands like Blood Circus, Coffin Break, Crackerbash, Dead Moon, Fastbacks, Flop, Gas Huffer, Green River, The Gits, Hammerbox, Love Battery, The Melvins, The Mono Meny Mudhoney. Also appears Nirvana (the first live gig in Smells Like Teen Spirit, when they were 4 and Kurt Kurdt was called), The Posies, Seaweed, 7 Year Bitch, Some Velvet Sidewalk, Soundgarden, Supersuckers, Young Fresh Fellows and Zipgun.

Live Forever: The rise and fall of the Britpop
Country and year: USA . 2003 / Director: John Dower

is a documentary that depicts the rise and fall of Britpop in the 90's. A movement that was only represented by the UK music in those years if not a whole effervescent that British popular culture became known worldwide. Told by its most representative icons: Blur, Pulp, Oasis (though they never acknowledged part of Britpop), The Verve, among others.
